ポール・ズーコフスキー『MUSIC FOR A 20th CENTURY VIOLINIST』(1974)。アカデミズムのエスタブリッシュメントの面々も結構精進取り組んでいます。案外面白いではないか。

きょうは、現代音楽演奏のスペシャリスト、ヴァイオリンのポール・ズーコフスキー Paul Zukofsky(1943－)が、自国、米国の現代音楽作曲家の作品を取り上げてのＬＰ３枚組みの作品集『MUSIC FOR A 20th CENTURY VIOLINIST』(1974)。ネット検索してもヒットせず、ということで、取り上げられている作曲家のＷＩＫＩページをとりあえず貼り付けよう。とにもかくにも、これだけの数(１４人)の作曲家とその作品についてあーだーこーだはとてもじゃないがやってられない。こちとらジョン・ケージを筆頭にニューヨーク楽派・アヴァンギャルド達は聴いてきてはいるがアカデミズムのエスタブリッシュメントの面々までは聴くにいたっていない。というより、正直なところ、なかば馬鹿にしていたというところだろうか。拙ブログでもときおり、曰く、開拓移民の集まりでなった新興国ゆえの音楽後進国といった口吻で物言いしていたことだった。おおむね保守的だと。唯一例外としたのは、このセットものには洩れているエリオット･カーターだった。この作曲家はいくつか拙ブログで取り上げている。だけど今回、３枚通して聴いての印象は、案外面白いではないか、皆さんまじめに精進取り組んでいらっしゃる。ちィーとはまじめに聴かなくてはと思ったのが聴きなおしての収穫といえばいえるのかも。たとえばアカデミズムの大御所、ミルトン・バビット Milton Byron Babbitt (1916－)など。（自宅のノートパソコンの不具合で、ＧＯＯＧＬＥ検索も、ＹＯＵＴＵＢＥ動画検索も使えずということで、仕上げは後日にして今日はここまでとしよう。）
